Mission Opportunities
at Main Street UMC
Our church engages in a variety of ministries in an effort to eradicate poverty by partnering with and empowering those in need.
Local Mission & Outreach
Food Finders Truck
Food Finders is a mobile food pantry which collaborates with organizations to provide food for those in need. The truck comes to Peru on the last Wednesday of each month and provides fresh and frozen food items to recipients as available. Main Street hosts the truck two to three times each year.
Helping Hands
Helping Hands is a local ministry that provides resources to individuals and families. Main Street supports this organization through fundraising and food collections.
Life Cycle
Lifecycle is a local collaborative ministry working through with local System of Care Association. It is designed to assist individuals in overcoming transportation issues. Bicycles that are donated to the program are repaired, tuned up and then given to qualifying recipients. Main Street hosts this ministry and meets with potential clients.
Weekend Backpacks for Children
Miami County assists low-income preschool families by providing a backpack of food to get them through the weekend. Main Street organizes this ministry and provides a team of volunteers to fill the backpacks each week before they are sent home.
